Free webinar on road risk management for fleet operators

Road safety charity Brake is running a free online session for professionals with responsibility for at-work drivers looking at addressing road risk management in fleets

The Towards Zero: going beyond compliance webinar, sponsored by Verizon Connect, takes place on Tuesday 11 December, 2pm-3.30pm.

Organisations have a responsibility for the health and safety of their at-work drivers and other road users, but creating a culture of road safety means going beyond basic compliance and putting it at the heart of the organisation’s health & safety policies and Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

The webinar is open to health & safety staff, fleet managers, senior management staff, and anyone else with responsibility for at-work drivers at their organisation.

Academic and practitioner speakers will discuss:

  • why it’s important to address fleet safety and the benefits of doing so
  • measures employers can implement to address the safety of drivers and vehicles
  • how technology can assist organisations in managing their road risk
  • how engaging with the wider community can help to build a workplace road safety culture

Attendance is free. To register, book online, or email [email protected].

“Driving is a critical risk for any organisation that has staff who drive for work,” Brake’s New Zealand Director Caroline Perry says.

“It’s essential that organisations address their road risk, to comply with health & safety legislation and to help protect their workforce and other road users.

“This webinar will provide information about measures organisations can implement, and also discuss how organisations can go beyond compliance to build a culture of road safety in the workplace.”

Organisations can also access more events and fleet safety resources by becoming a member of Brake Professional, Brake’s not-for-profit membership service, sharing good practice in addressing road risk.

Members receive regular resources such as guidance reports, access to the members’ area of www.brakepro.org, free or discounted attendance at Brake’s events, and the latest road safety research.
